(Crazy Ol’) Jens Grimm and (BB) Bernd Browzee are the blues basterds with whom I shared the stage and the radio studio during my years in Germany.
Jens, all the time completely nuts, blows the harmonica since times when I was not even born. He experienced the times when the greatest bluesmen toured Europe during the sixties. This man had been my neighbour over the street for many years. An evening at Jens’ home is about drinking some red wine and listening to good music, roots to the bone. A performance with Crazy Ol’ Jens on stage is somehow something unpredictable. With Crazy Ol’ Jens, any floor becomes a shaken stage, a battlefield, « low down and dirty »!
I met BB Browzee at a friends’ party, jamming with another crazy guy called Oli Verhoeven. BB Browzee is an outstanding performer of Neil Young songs, can play Elvis (’68 Comeback version) or Robert Johnson (passed through Eric Clapton). BB Browzee started to perform with Irish music bands. He’s always keen to explore new musical paths and tools in his home studio. With BB there’s always something new to learn. He’s the kind of performer unconscious of the number of female listeners he can attract for more than just a song.

Ce vieux taré de Jens souffle dans son harmonica depuis des temps où je n’étais même pas encore né. Il a vécu l’époque où les plus grands bluesmen sillonnaient l’Europe des années 60. Ce type a été mon voisin de l’autre côté de la rue pendant des années. Une soirée chez lui, cela consiste à siroter un vin rouge en écoutant de la musique organique jusqu’à l’os. Une performance avec Crazy Ol’ Jens sur scène relève de l’imprévisible. Avec Crazy Ol’ Jens, n’importe quel lieu devient une scène ravagée, un champ de bataille « low down and dirty » !
J’ai rencontré BB Browzee à une fête d’amis, tapant le boeuf avec un autre type barré du nom de Oli Verhoeven. BB est un extraordinaire interprète de Neil Young (période « Harvest Moon »), peut jouer Elvis (version ’68 Comeback) ou Robert Johnson (passé à la moulinette Clapton). BB a débuté la scène avec des groupes de musique irlandaise. Il est toujours prêt à explorer de nouveaux sentiers musicaux et de nouveaux outils dans son home-studio. Avec BB il y a toujours quelque chose de nouveau à apprendre. BB Browzee est le type d’artiste inconscient du nombre de femmes qu’il peut attirer pour plus qu’une simple chanson.
