Si Tarantino a donné beaucoup de place au rock’n’roll dans ses films, il y a aussi fait l’apologie de la Chartreuse. Mieux qu’au cinéma, de Chartreuse arrivent ces mercenaires du rock’n’roll, Dusty Rodeo, qui ne jouent dans aucun film.
La country et le rock’n’roll retrouvent avec Dusty Rodeo leurs racines rudes et âpres, très loin des stéréotypes de musiques de bals associés à ces genres.
La musique sautillante laisse place avec Dusty Rodeo aux virées pétaradantes de rockers de contrebande, poursuivis par les démons du blues sur les routes poussiéreuses de la country.
La mission de Dusty Rodeo : soulever la poussière et le faire entendre !
If Tarantino has given much room to rock’n’roll in his movies, he’s been also an apologist for Chartreuse. Better than at the movie theater, those mercenaries of rock’n’roll, Dusty Rodeo, are coming from Chartreuse and they don’t play in any movie.
Country and rock’n’roll return to their harsh roots with Dusty Rodeo, very far away from the stereotypes of dance music associated with these genres.
With Dusty Rodeo, the hoppy music gives way to the furious trips of moonshine rockers, chased by the demons of the blues on the dusty roads of the country.

Juin 1985 : interprète le rôle de Gavroche sur les barricades en chantant « La Faute à Voltaire ».
Juin 1994 : joue Buddy Holly sur la scène du village.
1999 : participe à la construction européenne avec les European Cosmic Cowboys.
Octobre 1999 : commence à prêcher et à vendre des greffes de testicules de bouc sous le titre « HONKY TONK LIVE » sur les radios française et allemande (puis sous le titre “Pastoral Mécanique” depuis 2017).
2000-2012 : assèche les honky-tonks d’outre-Rhin sous le pseudonyme de Steffan Rock.
(Ba)Sin City, septembre 2005 : joue sur la scène du Kadie’s Club Pecos et fait la bringue avec Marv.
Depuis juin 2013 : pétarade avec Dusty Rodeo.

Fab Karxx (fabulous bassman)
Quatre cordes suffisent à Fab pour caresser et claquer sa grosse dame boisée. Il est arrivé dans Dusty Rodeo comme il fait de la musique : avec sa frontale de montagnard, en explorant de nouveaux territoires. A l’origine il est bassiste électrique et compose de la musique électronique (projet « The KarXX »), tout ça entre différents projets musicaux originaux. Mais là, il dévale en tyrolienne des montagnes de Chartreuse sur les cordes de sa contrebasse, pour atterrir sur le plancher des vaches du Rodeo au ras des pâquerettes d’une musique plus agricole. Fab sait labourer cette terre des plaines rockabilly avec son slapping cardiaque à la Bill Black et nuancer le blues avec des notes élastiques à la Willie Dixon. Le professionnalisme du fab bassman témoigne de ses années d’expérience sur scène et en studio : avec lui, un musicien rentre toujours chez lui moins idiot.
Four gut strings are enough to Fab Bassman to stroke and slap his big woody lady. He came into Dusty Rodeo like he plays his music : with his mountaineer’s headlamp by exploring new territories. He’s originally an electric bass player and writes and records electronic music (« The KarXX » project) between different eccentric projects. Here though, he rides down the zipline on his double-bass strings from the Chartreuse mountains, to land on the Rodeo’s ground for a much earthier music. Fab knows how to plow this ground of rockabilly plains with his cardiac slapping à la Bill Black and how to color his blues with elastic notes à la Willie Dixon. The fab bassman’s professionalism testifies his years of experience on stage and in the studio : with him, a musician always go home less stupid.
Jeff Noyon a.k.a. Soda Pop Kid (big beatman)
Les baguettes et balais de Jeff donnent le tempo de la cylindrée Dusty Rodeo. Jeff produit sa motorisation à 4 temps debout derrière une batterie réduite qui suffit à propulser le Rodeo.
Mais l’éventail de talents de Jeff va bien au-delà de la section rythmique de Dusty Rodeo. Il sait aussi chanter, écrire, jouer de la guitare, jouer du piano et Dieu sait quoi d’autre, notamment comme tête pensante des projets Soda Pop Kid (« SPK ») et Lady Down et créateur du festival Micro Brassens dans les montagnes de Chartreuse.
Jeff, un pur créateur.
Jeff’s sticks and brushes are ticking the tempo for the Dusty Rodeo powertrain. Jeff exhausts his four-stroke beat standing up behind a reduced drumset, which is enough to power the Rodeo engine.
But Jeff’s talent range is much wider than the minimalistic skin beating for Dusty Rodeo. He also sings, writes songs, plays the guitar, plays the piano and who knows what else, acting as the mastermind of the Soda Pop Kid (« SPK ») and Lady Down projects and founder of the Micro Brassens festival in the mountains of Chartreuse.
