Last Saturday as a stop on our (de)tour in the city, we played at home at the famous Grenoble musical headquarters called Café Bayard. On the backroom stage, we performed our set while Bernie the place mayor was occasionnaly playing along his mandolin between two services behind his bar, adding a kind of stereo to our performance. We got our tips in a spiked helmet, as usual there, that metallic bowl which collects the bankable recognition of the audience. Le Bayard is a convergence place for any musician in Grenoble. That’s where our combo was founded like some other bands. The stop was therefore mandatory and with no discussion at Le Bayard.

Samedi dernier, dans le cadre de notre (dé)tour dans la ville, nous avons joué à domicile, notre quartier général de l’honorable institution grenobloise du Café Bayard. Sur la scène de l’arrière-salle nous avons enchaîné les morceaux pendant que Bernie le maire des lieux jouait entre deux services occasionnellement de sa mandoline derrière le zinc afin d’ajouter de la stéréo à notre prestation. Nous n’avons pas joué au chapeau mais au casque à pointe, ce récipient métallique qui reccueille les reconnaissance sonnantes et trébuchantes des spectateurs. Le Bayard, c’est un lieu de ralliement des musiciens de Grenoble. C’est là que notre combo s’est formé comme beaucoup d’autres fanfares. L’étape est donc obligatoire et sans discussion au Bayard.
